QuickBooks Desktop bookkeeping
Not every established business should be pushed into a software migration. We support existing QuickBooks Desktop files with a controlled process for versions, backups, accountant changes, reconciliation, and monthly reporting.

Where it fits
Businesses with years of history, memorized reports, custom items, or processes built around an existing company file.
Contractors and project-based businesses that rely on detailed customer, job, item, class, or estimate-to-actual reporting.
Organizations using advanced inventory, multiple users, industry editions, or deeper operational reporting in QuickBooks Enterprise.
Access and onboarding
Desktop bookkeeping begins with the exact product, year, operating system, file condition, and working arrangement. We select the safest practical workflow before anyone edits the books.
We document Pro, Premier, Mac, Accountant, or Enterprise; the release year; file size; user setup; and whether the file is locally installed or hosted.
A dated backup and restoration plan are established before cleanup, imports, upgrades, or accountant changes begin.
Depending on the file, we use Accountant's Copy, secure hosted access, or another documented exchange process with clear responsibility for the live file.
When Accountant's Copy is used, we agree which period we maintain and which current-period activity your team may continue entering.
The monthly workflow
Verify the company file, user access, version compatibility, backup status, and working copy before edits.
Transfer the accountant file or connect through the approved hosted environment using the documented schedule.
Tie bank, card, loan, payroll, receivable, payable, and relevant inventory or clearing balances to support.
Analyze exceptions, job or class coding, prior-period balances, and changes that cannot safely travel through Accountant's Copy.
Deliver accountant changes, reports, notes, and backup instructions, then confirm the client file reflects the accepted work.

Cleanup and correction
We work from statements and supporting schedules to identify stale reconciliations, forced adjustments, duplicates, and unsupported balances.
We establish a dividing date, ownership rules, and a return process so work is not overwritten or imported twice.
We review how transactions flow through operational lists and reports, then document corrections appropriate to the file and engagement scope.
The outcome
A controlled QuickBooks Desktop process with protected files, traceable changes, reconciled balances, and reports that preserve the workflow your business still needs.
Questions, answered
We assess existing Pro, Premier, Mac, Accountant, and Enterprise files individually. Support depends on product year, operating system, file health, licensing, and the access method available.
No. We do not force a migration. We first determine whether the existing Desktop workflow remains supportable and appropriate for your reporting and operational needs.
Often, yes. Accountant's Copy is designed for concurrent work around an agreed dividing date, but it has transaction and import limitations that we review before using it.
The method depends on your setup. Options may include Intuit's Accountant's Copy File Transfer service, an approved secure file exchange, or access through a managed hosting environment.
Never without written approval and a verified backup. Version compatibility and restoration planning are checked before any upgrade or conversion is considered.
Yes, when included in scope and after reviewing how your items, jobs, classes, purchasing, inventory, and reporting are configured.
